Having a space for 2-weeks vacation, I decided to explore Thailand. You know, what could be better to drive around the country with different culture and special nature? Especially when your hometown is dying under the freeze.
This was my first New Year holiday week spent abroad. I tried to combine a comfortable climate (+25 in January, can you believe it?!) with cultural learning. And this idea worked out pretty fine!
The destination was the Arabian Gulf. I’ve got 3 days in Dubai/UAE and 4 days more in Oman. These two periods were so contrasting! Skyscrapers vs. traditional architecture, expat-friendly vs. traditional, urbanism vs. nature! The list of “mutually exclusive paragraphs” between two locations may go on endlessly!
But let me try to explain such experience as I usually do: by 10 thoughts.
For now I don’t have anything special in my engineering path to share with IT community. One way I would suggest you, my dear reader (if you really exist) – relax and take my thoughts about travelling.
A couple of weeks ago I was celebrated a university graduation. Well, what does the “celebrated” mean? I just picked my diploma and went back to work. But nevermind.
At the beginning of April I got a chance to do what I like the most – travel. I was interested to explore Baltic coast, my home country neighbors. Here are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus. Also I desired to visit Kaliningrad, the place between two different histories. It was challenging because of different cultures, proximity, European architecture, cheap pricing. And just for interest. You know, you might go to more popular destinations at any time in your life. But such journeys are reasonable only in youth.
So, here is my trip map and now I’m going to note 10 distinct impressions I was felt.
Disclaimer: this post is not about personal praise, arrogance and chattery. It’s just a checklist of strikethrough items in my life. Remember, this is my personal blog and I want to write about my life, although having no idea why. There must be some explanations by behavioural psychology I should learn in 2017.
I promised that I won’t make any post at this blog about my life leaving this source for IT experience. But now I see this rule as a limit. If you set the limits – you’ll never be free. So, try to do what’s curious for you all the time. That’s why I’ve got this post.
